Hello and thanks for stopping by. We are a husband and wife photography team and have started this blog as an addition to our formal websites to provide extra information about us, our business, and what we are up to these days. We've started with a little history to let you know how we got started and who we have studied and trained under. The site is new so we hope you come back and keep track of our progress as we grow. We are in the process of moving our photography business out of our house and into a commercial building and thought we would keep everyone involved in the process and progress. Sit back and enjoy.

Photo Restoration

original scan with some simple color correction
A few days ago a gentleman brought us a 3x5 photograph from his wedding day 10 years earlier.  He was looking to surprise his wife for their anniversary and asked if we could make a canvas print from the picture he provided.

Our first question was did he have the original film negative??!!!  His first question was could we remove the unknown goober who stood in their beautiful picture and ruined it? (I got the impression that the individual leaning against the light post has irritated him for a long time.)

After cleaning and scanning the image my wife flew about on her broom, waving her Wacom Pen like a wand and worked her magic in Photoshop. (I believe I am going to eat that last sentence but hey we needed a Halloween reference in today's Photography Blog!)

If one compares images one can see that Denise was able to subtly alter the image removing the water fountain, the shadow of the goober as well as bring out the rich color and detail that hid just below the surface of the negative.  The husband seemed pretty thrilled and we were too, the image on the screen does not compare to the 11x14 inch canvas print.

It was definitely a successful Mesmerizing Photography adventure. We were able to breath life into an image that had laid dormant for 10 years and felt fortunate for the opportunity to help out a man still very much in love with his wife. We hope this anniversary picture will be a treasured wedding memory for years to come.
